Dr. Kathryn Wallace
Dr. Kathryn Wallace grew up in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Growing up, she learned the meaning of hard work; she worked as a stable hand and riding instructor in exchange for riding lessons, which sparked her love for horses and for competitive riding. In 2016, an instructor took her under her wing and gave her the opportunity to lease and show in the hunter ring. As a young adult, Dr. Wallace showed in the hunters and jumpers at many provincial and EC rated shows.
Dr. Wallace’s passion for production animals began while attending the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus - formerly the NSAC - in Truro, NS, for her BSc(Agr.) with a minor in equine science. Dr. Wallace then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, where her interest and desire to work towards the betterment of production animals and sport horses flourished.
After graduating from the AVC, and eager to remain near family in the Maritimes, she readily and happily accepted a position at Fundy Vets. At Fundy Vets, Dr. Wallace attends to large animals of all shapes and has a special interest in equine sports medicine and preventative medicine.
When she’s not on the clock, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Carson, their dog, Diesel, and their cat, Sandy. There’s always a project to be done at home, and she enjoys baking, and needlework.
As a new graduate of the class of 2024, she looks forward to building lasting relationships with her clients and patients, and learning from her peers.
