Our clinic offers in-house diagnostics that include blood work, digital radiology, urinalysis and fecal analysis.
Blood work includes a chemistry panel to evaluate for kidney and liver disease, diabetes, pancreatitis, and thyroid disorders. A complete blood cell count helps evaluate for inflammation/infection, anemia, dehydration, and platelet counts. A microscopic differential analysis is done to evaluate the different types of white blood cells as well as the look of the red blood cells and platelets.
Taking radiographs or x-rays can help us evaluate what is going on inside your pet if there are problems that are not visible on the outside.
A urinalysis can evaluate for the presence of bacteria or crystals and can help us evaluate your animal's kidney function through the urine concentration, pH, and presence of proteins, glucose or ketones.
We can evaluate a fecal sample from your pet to look for bacterial overgrowth and parasite eggs; this allows us to set up an appropriate parasite control regimen.
