Fundy Flagpole

The human-animal bond is a powerful one. Animals give us love without hesitation, unconditionally, and they ask for so little in return. During the last few months, our animals have been with us and have brightened our days and lightened our hearts in the darkest and strangest times. So we asked people to tell us about it! What makes your “pet” special?

By sharing stories like these, we were hoping to spread the positivity that people so desperately need right now.

We received so many amazing submissions, but in the end, we had to pick a winner. The prize? An 18’ flagpole with a Nova Scotia flag fully installed by our very own Dr. Trevor Lawson

The Story of Cash

When we had the idea to ask for people to share the story of their animal bond we were hoping to bring a little bit of joy in a time when the world needs to be flooded in it. We truly loved reading all the stories that came in and we were honoured to gift Kim and her dog Cash a little reminder of of the joy that comes with sharing your life with an animal! 

Kim’s submission:

“Cash, the absolute love of my life and bearer of every piece of my heart. Purchased via Kijiji as a 10 month old terror while I was young and naive. We’ve faced so many challenges together and shed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. He’s now surpassed me in age and entered the twilight of his life. He’s facing new challenges and inspiring me every day with his resilience and adaptability. I have him tattooed on my arm so that even when we have to part ways, I can keep him with me always ️”
